Inspiring Message. So Thankful for LySandra.

"Hello Face the Challenge! My name is LySandra. I am 16 years old and soon will be a senior in high school. Last year, I started a non-profit organization called Cleft Palates in Vietnam. It was when a family friend showed me pictures of Dr. Le Thi Viet's work with children suffering from cleft palates. I learned about her collaboration with Dr. Randolph C. Robinson, and became even more inspired by the Face the Challenge organization.

"Through Cleft Palates in Vietnam, I raised $5,000 to help pay for the surgeries of the children in need of cleft palate reconstruction by selling my art in local coffee shops and art shows. On May 29th, 2015 I travelled to Vietnam to visit Dr. Viet at the Odonto Maxillo Facial Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) personally to deliver the funds to her and the Hospital Director, Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh. Dr. Viet showered my family and me with hospitality and even allowed me to see a few of the surgeries up close.

"...Dr. Robinson's work has personally touched me and inspired me to continue pursuing a career in medicine, so one day I may perform the same miracles that he has..."
